"Incline your ear, and come to me; hear, that your soul may live; and I will make with you an everlasting covenant, "

Isaiah 55:3

Do you enjoy windchimes? There is one hanging in a Dogwood tree in our yard. It has a beautiful low tone that is pleasant to the ear. Sometimes, it can be heard from within the house. But you must know it is there and incline your ear to listen to its beautiful melody.

God is ever speaking unto us and calling us to Himself. What the Lord desires to share is the most beautiful thing we have ever heard. Nothing could compare to the merciful invitation from God. He beckons us to incline our ears to Him so that we might live.

Beloved, quiet your heart today and listen to the Lord through His word. The Holy Spirit will make the word of God alive to you, and He desires to make an everlasting covenant with you in Christ. He is still calling to the weary and thirsty. Will you come?

"Do not remember against us our former iniquities; let your compassion come speedily to meet us, for we are brought very low."

Psalm 79:8

Beloved, it is all too familiar to us the weight of past sins and the concerns of what has been accumulated as those included within a culture in rebellion against God.

The Psalmist is concerned about the consequences of disobedience. He seeks God's intervention before it is too late. May the Lord intervene in divine mercy and save us from our iniquity before it becomes too late.

Christ the Redeemer will speedily come to meet us, to save and restore, so that we do not come to complete ruin. Jesus can heal broken lives and make all things new.

You may be very low on this day but the Lord will lift you if you look to Him. Call on the name of the Lord and He will come to you. He is merciful to the brokenhearted and able to set the captive free. It is not too late, the Lord is an ever-present help in the time of need.

"... though he causes grief, he will have compassion according to the abundance of his steadfast love; "

Lamentations 3:32

The Lord's chastisement is redemptive in its purpose. God is concerned with the eternal condition of our souls. If the momentary comfort of our lives is rooted in sin, He will afflict such a heart, bringing it to a place of true repentance.

The Holy Spirit is faithful to trouble the wayward heart. He takes peace from the mind and stirs the heart until it is restless. Beloved, let us trust that the Lord is working all things for the good of His redemptive purpose in our lives and those we are praying for. Even the grief He causes is guided by steadfast love.

Perhaps the Lord's steadfast love is working grief in the lives of your unsaved loved ones. Keep praying and entrust them to the Lord.
