By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household."

Hebrews 11:7

Life is filled with unseen events, and the events of life come without any warning. However, the Bible informs us that trials will come, but God will always be with us through life. We, like Noah, must ready ourselves each day for whatever might come our way. We do this by recognizing our need and dependence upon God. No matter what the world is doing, we will serve the Lord.

" Yet a little while, and the coming one will come and will not delay;"

Hebrews 10:37

This is the next unseen event that God has warned us about. For the believer, we await with hope and joy. For the world, this means judgment. Let us live in light of this unseen event as Noah did for his. May this unseen event yet to come direct how we live and what we live for. Let us start today.

And I heard a voice from heaven saying, "Write this: Blessed are the dead who died in the Lord from now on." "Blessed indeed," says the Spirit, "that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them!"

Revelation 14:13

The believer alone has this promise of eternal rest in Christ. The Lord told us that in this life, we would have tribulation, but to be of good courage, for He had overcome this world. The Comforter has come to help us and encourage us through each day. But we still become weary and need time to refresh.

The day is coming when we shall depart from this life. But we do not need to fear what awaits us. Our Savior has already gone ahead to prepare a place for us. A place when shall cease from all of our labors and there will be no more turmoil.

There will no longer be any struggle with our sinful nature, the spirit of this age, or the enemy of our soul. Faith will behold all that we believe and sought for. It will be a day of rejoicing and overwhelming peace for the saint who dies in Christ.

"Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, ...nothing will be impossible for you."

Matthew 17:20

The disciples asked the Lord why they were not able to deliver the young boy from demonic oppression. Jesus responds by telling them that their faith was small. Their faith was not rooted in God. They were not depending upon Him, for their expectations were what they could do. Jesus affirms that the smallest amount of genuine faith in God and resting upon what He can do will see His goodness.

In the last two years, my family has experienced tremendous loss and diverse trials. In seasons like this, one does not always feel like you have great faith. It is hard to ask God for anything. The only thing you have at times is little faith, but being rooted in Him is all the difference.

The faith that clings to God for who He is, even though it is not strong enough to ask for anything more, is powerful enough to keep us. God is greater than what we think and believe. Thankfully, He is merciful toward us.
