" let not your hands grow weak."

   Zephaniah 3:16

To grow weary in well-doing is not an uncommon occurrence. The godly person who desires the righteousness of the Lord in their life will feel the weight of their old nature. The pull from the spirit of this age will buffet the believer, and the enemy will try to snare one committed to walking the narrow path.

The testing of our faith and the trials of being a part of a fallen world all cause weariness. It plagues the mind, spirit, and heart. Every child of God will feel the burdens and cares. How does one not let their hands grow weary? How is our faith to persevere?

"The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; "

  Zephaniah 3:17

God Himself will lift you, beloved. He will carry you by His mercy. The grace of God will be sufficient, and the Holy Spirit will empower you. Trust the Lord today. He is in the midst of your life and is mighty to save.

"Seek humility; "

  Zephaniah 2:3

Beloved, let us take to heart the command from our heavenly Father to seek humility. He has been merciful towards us. If we have experienced the patience of God, then we should demonstrate that in our lives towards others.

When we correctly understand God's grace towards us, it creates a humble spirit. Pride can not live in the light of such truth. To know how the Lord has forgiven us removes an arrogant heart.

The Spirit of God works to create within us a teachable attitude and a reasonable demeanor that is not easily provoked or harsh. He will help us, but we have to seek humility. It is a part of our daily prayer, a petition we can bring before the Lord today.

"O Lord, how long shall I cry for help, and you will not hear?"

"For I am doing a work in your days that you would not believe if told."

  Habakkuk 1:2,5

The prophet believed his cry went unheard before the Lord. Habakkuk did not see an immediate response to his petition and concluded God was not answering. Sometimes we feel the same with the prayers we offer. Time passes, and we see no change. Things remain the same, and we wonder if our cries for help have gone unheard.

The Lord revealed that He heard and was at work. What God was doing would be hard for Habakkuk to believe. But the Lord was at work.

We do not always understand what the Lord is doing in or through our lives. We can be sure that He hears our cries for help. God works all things for the good of our salvation, and He is in control. We can trust the Lord today concerning everything in our lives, and the Lord is working. Faithful to finish the work he has begun in us. Rest in this assurance today.
