" The ransomed of the Lord shall return and come to Zion with singing; everlasting joy shall be upon their heads; they shall obtain gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away."

Isaiah 51:11

The redeemed of the Lord look forward to that eternal morning when darkness is dispelled. The shroud of sorrow and pain shall never cover the brow of God's elect again. Sighing shall flee away. The weariness of heart and mind vanquished.

This hope of everlasting joy stirs our hearts. The promise is sure beloved, though gladness and joy appear to be fleeting at times. There is a hope of its permanency in the kingdom of our Lord. When He makes all things new and wipes away every tear. On that day, everlasting joy shall be upon your head. Eternal gladness and joy obtained, never to depart again for sorrow, and all-cause for sighing shall have fled away.

God will hold us fast until the appointed time. He is faithful to impart His peace for this hour. To bring joy to our hearts because of the salvation He has provided for us. God is with you and will not forsake you.

" May my teaching drop as the rain, my speech distill as the dew, like a gentle rain upon the tender grass, and like showers upon the herb."

Deuteronomy 32:2

Heavenly Father, we ask that thy word come to our souls. May it be as the rain falling upon your creation to bring life. Creation cannot be sustained unless You water it. So our spirits need the life from Your holy word.

It is what we long for and need above all else. Our life is like the tender grass and the fragile herb. We need the comfort that comes like a dew settling upon the blade. The gentle rain that refreshes and does not wash away in a torrent.

Send Your word that will not return void but fully accomplishes Your purpose. It is what we need for every moment in life. We are grateful that you are willing and able to send such times of refreshing. May it come to us this day in its fullness of power.

" ... he poured out his soul to death and was numbered with the transgressors; yet he bore the sins of many, and makes intercession for the transgressors."

Isaiah 53:12

Beloved, one can only wonder how this revelation touched the prophet of God. He must have been in awe. How much did he fully comprehend?

We are the beneficiaries of this blessed hope in Christ. It is our transgressions that were laid upon Him. Jesus poured out His soul in death for us.

We have consolation for today and every trial that comes into our lives. Jesus is our redeemer and friend. The one who is with us in all things and has suffered all things so that we might know His kindness.

The Lord is not unsympathetic unto you. He intercedes for you. Jesus Christ is the great high priest. He has no equal or successor. He is eternally yours, and you are eternally His. Rest in His compassion and understanding for you.
