.... we who have fled for refuge might have a strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us.
Hebrews 6:18
Beloved, we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. What could be the assurance of our salvation, a transformed life, and the hope of eternal life? Our self-righteousness is like filthy rags before God. No one can keep the Law of God perfectly. No amount of ceremony or morality can atone for us on our merit. Where do we find encouragement to hold fast in seeking refuge? In Christ alone.
When we flee to Christ and take refuge in the grace of God, we find hope. He has promised redemption in Christ. All other ground is sinking sand, but in Christ, we have strong encouragement to hold fast in the hope of eternal life. The promise is given by God and secured by the Spirit of God. Therefore, we have hope for today and every day until we arrive at our eternal home.
In Christ Alone,
Pastor Wight
