Comfort is Coming | Nov. 13th

Our hope for you is unshaken, for we know that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in our comfort."

2 Corinthians 1:7

Suffering is inescapable in this life. As Christians, we are forewarned that trials lay ahead, but we are not to be dismayed. God has promised never to abandon us. He has promised us peace amid the storm and a grace to bear all things.

Paul was sure that if Christians were experiencing suffering, they would also be comforted. The promise of God to all of His people is that He will comfort them. Suffering is overshadowed by comfort. As affliction comes, comfort comes as well.

We belong to the God of comfort. Who has promised to comfort us in all of our afflictions? God, who is for us. The one working all things for our good. He will prove to be a present help in the time of need. Look to God, your comforter and peace.

In Christ Alone,

Pastor Wight
