" They saw the deeds of the Lord, his wondrous works in the deep. For he commanded and raised the stormy wind,

Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. "

Psalm 107:24-25,28

Seeing the witness of God in creation is not enough. We cannot merely acknowledge God, we must live for Him. We must come to that moment when we cry out to God as our Savior.

God, in His infinite mercy, will send the stormy winds upon our lives for us to cry out to Him. Calm waters can be more deadly to our eternal well-being than the momentary trials of today. These times of suffering force us to cry to God, the One who can save us. Then we should be grateful that He uses whatever means are necessary to keep us close to Him. To help us know Him as the God who saves.

Beloved, lift your voice today if the stormy wind has fallen upon you. The Lord will hear you. He will calm the waters and bring you to His haven of rest.

In Christ Alone,

Pastor Wight
