"In overflowing anger, for a moment, I hid my face from you, but with everlasting love, I will have compassion on you, says the Lord, your Redeemer." -Isaiah 54:8

The Lord's anger is kindled because of sin; therefore, He hid His face from His people. God still chastens those whom He loves. If the Lord opposes the proud, we should anticipate His hand against us. Thankfully, the anger of the Lord endures for a moment. In comparison to His everlasting love. How grateful we should be that though the Lord may hide His face from us so that we might come to our senses. God's mercy extends to the penitent heart. If we humble ourselves beneath God's mighty hand, we shall find the compassion of the Lord and will receive everlasting love from our Redeemer. May the unceasing lovingkindness of the Lord keep us in close relation to Him.

In Christ Alone,
