My Refuge | April 11th

"You are my refuge in the day of disaster."

Jeremiah 17:17

Days of disaster come like a torrent. Like an unwanted guest who gives no warning of their arrival. Obnoxious, loud, and intrusive. No manners or regard for the peace and well-being of others.

Days of disaster come with gloom and despair. It causes doubt, sorrow, perplexity, and sometimes brings pain. We try to avoid such days. But no amount of preparation or wisdom can abolish such circumstances from one's life.

Our hope and plea in light of such days is to make the Lord our refuge. Look to Him as the one who knows our troubles and will guide us through. Everything has to pass through the providence of God, even days of disaster. We may question why they have come and why the Lord did not intervene sooner. But we must believe that He is working all things out for the good of our salvation in this life.

God is a refuge in the time of storm. He will sustain you and help you. Seek the Lord today as your refuge.

In Christ Alone,

Pastor Wight
