"Do not remember against us our former iniquities; let your compassion come speedily to meet us, for we are brought very low."
Psalm 79:8
Beloved, it is all too familiar to us the weight of past sins and the concerns of what has been accumulated as those included within a culture in rebellion against God.
The Psalmist is concerned about the consequences of disobedience. He seeks God's intervention before it is too late. May the Lord intervene in divine mercy and save us from our iniquity before it becomes too late.
Christ the Redeemer will speedily come to meet us, to save and restore, so that we do not come to complete ruin. Jesus can heal broken lives and make all things new.
You may be very low on this day but the Lord will lift you if you look to Him. Call on the name of the Lord and He will come to you. He is merciful to the brokenhearted and able to set the captive free. It is not too late, the Lord is an ever-present help in the time of need.
In Christ Alone,
Pastor Wight
