The reassuring love of a parent quiets the fears of a child. Compassion towards one who is troubled brings peace with assurance that all will be well.
When we are distressed, the reality of God's steadfast love enables us to be at peace. Knowing that the love of God is unceasing reminds us that He is working all things for the good of our salvation.
Therefore, we can trust in His providence. God is at work within every detail of our lives. So when things seem overwhelming, and we are surprised by our circumstances, we look to the one who loves us. The Lord promised never to forsake us and that nothing in this life would be able to separate you from His love in Christ Jesus.
Take heart, be still, and know that God loves you. He is with you and is on your side.
