Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble,...He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed. Then they were glad that the waters were quiet, and he brought them to their desired haven."
Psalm 107:28, 29-30
Every child of God has longed for quiet waters and the storms of life to become still. There is something within the heart of man that longs for tranquility. Peace becomes especially longed for when troubled times come. Let us be grateful that the Psalmist petitions the Lord to hush the turbulent waves. It encourages us to ask the same for ourselves from a merciful Father.
Beloved, take this psalm as an example for your prayer life. May it be something you gain comfort from and encouragement to seek the Lord when you are in distress. Though the waves are troubled now, God can quiet them as He leads you to the desired haven of peace.
The Lord is the God of peace and comfort. He will comfort you and give you peace. Look to Him today the Lord is with you.
