"...in Your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them." -Psalm 139:16
Beloved, in reality, there is too much to unpack in this verse is a little devotional. But let us consider a few thoughts together. We have lived long enough now that we realize no one knows tomorrow. Nothing is guaranteed even with the wisest of plans, prayers, and best wishes. With this realization comes fear, anxiety, and perplexity. One can be bold and have tremendous faith in the future, but ultimately we see not tomorrow clearly nor fully understand some of the presents. How shall one be comforted? What assurance is there for tomorrow concerning our days, a moment from now or a millennium?
We do not know tomorrow, but our days, all of them in number, have been known by God before, yet one of them came to be, for the one true God is omniscient. The Lord has known every moment of every day. The book of your life shall be completed. It will not end up like some of our readers in which we begin to read than never finish or get lost or donated because we have lost interest. Before God, your life is a completed book within His foreknowledge. He has known the beginning, the end, and everything in your life. With this, the Lord has promised never to forsake you and to present help in times of need. God is at work, beloved. Trust the wise and gracious author of your life. The ending shall be glorious.
In Christ Alone,
Pastor Wight
