The Lord is Near | March 27th

"The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit."

Psalm 34:18

The nearness of God is not something we should doubt, for He is omnipresent. We are never outside the presence of God. The Psalmist reminds us in terms that we understand and would be comforted by in describing the nearness of the Lord.

When we are brokenhearted or crushed in spirit by our sin or circumstances it is easy to believe God is far from us. That He has cast us off in some way. Penitent hearts and those in despair because of trials should know that the Lord is near and He will save them.

Do not allow your circumstances to dictate your hope in God. He is the God of all comfort. The Lord is with you and will not forsake you.

In Christ Alone,

Pastor Wight
