Words of Comfort | May 2nd

"The Lord God has given me the tongue of those who are taught, that I may know how to sustain with a word him who is weary."

  Isaiah 50:4

The prophet does not speak of himself in these words. They are a Messianic in their fulfillment. Jesus is the anointed One whom the Father sent to speak words of comfort unto His people.

May we be encouraged this day that our Lord speaks wise words unto us that bring everlasting life. He knows how to heal the brokenhearted and to mend their wounds. In Him, the sinner finds redemption and refuge.

The Lord knows how to sustain the weary. To encourage the faint and to comfort those who mourn over their sin or the burden of care. God is the God of all comfort. The Holy Spirit brings the scriptures to life in our spirit so that we are revived. Lifted from despair and ushered into the mercy of God.

Hear the tender words of the Lord today. He will not abandon you and is working all things for the good of your salvation. His grace will prove to be sufficient and the peace of God will guard your heart.

In Christ Alone,

Pastor Wight
