Get to Know Us
Rock of Refuge began in a home with two married couples and a child in 2002. As the fellowship increased in number, there arose a need to rent a building to make room for more people.
Though we are diverse in culture, ethnicity, and economic background, our love for one another and our Lord is shared. Rock of Refuge Church is a place where there’s an abundance of familial love to help you grow through any season in your life.
EVANGELISM
We endeavor to be a church made up of people who regularly, in every sphere of life, present the Gospel of Jesus Christ in such a way, both in words and in deeds, that turns non-Christians into converts.
COMMUNITY
We endeavor to be a church characterized by a familial, effervescent, Christ-centered community with people who consistently meet (in addition to regular church attendance) for the purpose of growing in relationship with God and with one another.
LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
We endeavor to be a church that effectively disciples converts into mature, fruitful leaders by equipping and empowering people for kingdom work and cultural renewal locally and around the world.

Rev. Derek Wight, Senior Pastor
Originally from Berlin, Massachusetts, Pastor Derek has spent over thirty years ministering in the tristate area. He attended Zion Bible Institute in 1993. He met his wife, Xiomara, there and were married in August 1995.
God has blessed them with two children, their son-in-law, and two granddaughters.
